tried & tested

With so many local attractions both in and around Southend, it can be difficult to decide where to go and what to do!

Our Tried and Tested reviews are a way for us to share some of the places on offer and give you more information on the individual attractions or venues, helping you make your decision that little easier!

Just Ride Southend

Published:

Just Ride Southend runs regular drop‑in inclusive cycling sessions for people of all ages and abilities. They are based at Southend Leisure & Tennis Centre at Garon Park and you can find them via a side gate entrance.

We decided to visit as my 5 year old wanted to learn to ride without stabilisers and we thought it would provide a flat and open space for him to ride.

Just Ride is suitable for all ages from 0-97. There are over 135 weird and wonderful bikes and you are free to ride as many as you like for as long as you like. Simply find one you fancy trying and off you go. The volunteer team were amazingly helpful and on-hand at all times to help you find a particular bike you are looking for, adjust seats and make sure it fits the little ones properly.

It costs just £2.50 to ride or if coming with children, you pay £2.50 for each child and an adult goes free.

Just Ride is open Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays from 10-12 and sometimes extended to 1pm during the summer holidays. No booking required! Visit their Facebook page for more information and updates.
