Puss In Boots and the Pea Green detective agency are ready to save pantoland from a terrible threat!

The Hickory Dickory Dock clock has been stolen and someone is messing with the pantomime timeline. The police are struggling to sniff out a suspect and things are getting stranger by the hour! Join Puss In Boots on their epic quest to bring the time thief to justice. This sword-swinging, paw-scratching, time-stopping pantomime is an action packed treat for all ages!

Visit us on the shortest day of the year for a traditional Wassail with music, activities, mill tours, and a special fruit tree planting celebration.

Hot food and mulled cider will be served in our tearoom to keep you warm and there is opportunity to buy some last-minute Christmas gift at our local seller stalls.

The event runs 1pm-5pm with some outdoor activity, so please come dressed for the weather. Torches may be handy too.

It may be cold over the winter period, but we've got just the thing to help you warm up... arts and crafts! The crafts are available throughout the school holidays (21st December - 2nd January. We are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so the crafts will not be available on these dates) and costs £4 to do all crafts once. No need to pre book, just turn up on the day.

Santa Storyboats are very special. Santa makes a special visit to joins us, on our trip, in a festive Bryan Donkin boat. Dressing up is expected! Christmas themed stories will be told by our storyteller, as we take a trip down the River Gade, from outside our Visitor Centre, along the River Gade, down to the Grand Union Canal and back. Children will receive a gift from Santa.

Our boat takes a maximum of 12 passengers plus crew. £12 per person. Lasts 45 minutes to an hour.

Booking is essential to join the fun. Tickets will go on sale on Monday 2nd December.

Roll up, Roll up! John Lawson's award-winning circus returns to Great Amwell Garden Centre, Van Hage this Christmas!

With an entirely human cast, featuring amazing brand new acts and exciting routines, this enthralling fun-filled show is a great family experience not to be missed.

We have various activities that are perfect for the whole family to have a go at such as making a handprint penguin, painting your own Christmas (or 'all year round') decoration, and why not try some rock painting as well?

The crafts are available throughout the school holidays (21st December - 2nd January. We are closed on Christmas Day and Boxing Day so the crafts will not be available on these dates) and costs £4 to do all crafts once. No need to pre book, just turn up on the day.

Put your detective skills to the test as you explore the Naughty Elf Trail! Spot the toys that were made correctly, the toys with something not quite right and which naughty elves messed up! Solve the elf mystery and write down your answers on your trail sheet. And don't forget, there's a special prize waiting for you at the end!

This festive season, step into magic as View Café is transformed into our cheeky elves workshop.

Carols on the Common is a new Harpenden community event for residents all ages to come and sing carols and Christmas sons together on Christmas Eve. It will be free, short and sweet, and takes place early in the evening so that everyone can join in.

Carol singing will be led by talented local musician Tim Sutton and his band and you can expect to sing Christmas favourites from Hark the Herald Angels Sing to White Christmas.

Carols on the Common is supported by the Harpenden Trust, and there will be an opportunity to donate to the Harpenden Trust Christmas Appeal.
