The Harpenden Christmas Carnival has become a wonderful symbol of the start of the festive season - it's free to attend and everyone is welcome!

The Christmas Carnival is a lively occasion with an abundance of live entertainment, activities, food and drink, outdoor bars and music as well as the Christmas Farmers' Market. Santa and his cheeky elves will be at the event again this year and there will be the opportunity to see them in the Procession as well as in his Grotto.

The Procession will begin at 3pm; from Lydekker Park it will travel along the High Street up to Vaughan Road. This year its theme is "A Harpenden Winter Wonderland" and the Town Council has opened the opportunity to join in to even more groups than before, making it an even bigger showstopper... Read more

Harpenden Farmer's Market takes place on the 4th Sunday of the month. Each Market finds a huge selection of produce available including: Meats, pies, sausages, game meats; Preserves - pickles, jams and honey; Cheeses; Vegetables; Dry herbs and spices; Flowers and plants; Fresh bread, cakes and pastries; Eggs; Organic produce.

Carols, crafts and Christmas cheer! This exciting festive event is a wonderful way for the Batford community to begin their festive celebrations and enjoy the Christmas lights.

Come along and enjoy singing by Sauncey Wood Primary School and All Saints Church, with complimentary refreshments provided by Shezzos and a wonderful craft tent hosted by All Saints Church.

Every year in November, Wheathampstead comes together on the High Street to see the sparkly Christmas lights switched on.
This event originally came about as a way to provide local businesses the opportunity to step outside their shops or offices and celebrate the start of the festive period with residents.

In 2024, the evening will include fairground rides for children, live music and carol singing, Santa's Grotto, food and drink, mulled wine and Christmas markets along both the High Street & Station Road.

Wrap up warm and make sure you join us ready to see the lights switched on at 6pm.

Southdown's community Christmas Lights Switch On event includes stalls, Santa's grotto (in Harpenden Trust Halls), carols, fun fair, lantern parade and more. Harpenden Town Council is exited to host this wonderful festive community event!

The annual Christingle Service organised by the Harpenden Committee of The Children's Society.

The service is for children of all ages and their parents and carers. Each child will receive a Christingle, which is an orange, decorated with sweets, dried fruit, red ribbon and a candle. There will also be a short talk about the work of The Children's Society, which is a national charity that runs local projects helping children and young people when they are at their most vulnerable and have nowhere left to turn. It will last for approximately 50 minutes. Donations will be invited for the work of the charity

Our annual Christmas fayre will be on Saturday 7th December. 12 - 5pm. We have craft stalls, festive food, live music, children's activities and plenty of mulled wine and cider! Come and join us for some festive fun and Christmas shopping!

A traditional Christmas Fair with usual stalls including bottles, cakes, craft, gifts, toys and white elephant, as well as
Irish coffees, hot dog lunches and more. We also will have Santa's Grotto for the children to visit.

Everyone is welcome.

The Church will be beautifully decorated, there will be lots of Carols, festive stalls and a breakfast cafe.

Father Christmas Visits Wardown | Festive Event in Luton
A magical Christmas experience for the whole family at Wardown House, Museum and Gallery.

Children are invited to listen to a festive story from Miss Christmas, meet the whimsical elves, and receive a special gift from under the tree when they meet Father Christmas. Plus, they can enjoy milk and cookies in our cosy café afterwards, while you enjoy a complimentary tea or coffee!

The Museum's collection of historic buildings will be decorated traditionally for Christmas with ivy, natural foliage, and candles. The 1940s Prefab will show how people celebrated a restrained wartime Christmas enlivened by make-do-and-mend decorations. Within the buildings you will find costumed stewards carrying out activities and telling visitors what life would have been like for past inhabitants.

There will be an artisan craft market full of locally made products and the Museum's shop will be stocked with items that would make great Christmas gifts. Father Christmas is taking some time out from his busy schedule to have a chat and a mince pie at Luton Hoo Estate. Places are limited - book early to avoid disappointment.
