It's that time of year again when we want to go on the hunt for some pumpkins. We love doing this and last year ended up with a wheelbarrow full!  As is the norm these days, most venues are asking people to pre book. Click the links below to make your booking.

Pumpkin Patch at Foxes Farm - Green Lane, Aldham, Colchester CO6 3PR; Watch House Farm, Wash Road, Basildon SS15 4ER
Open 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th 21st - 31st October, 1st November
Opening Times: 9am- 5pm (last entry 4pm)
Over 30 different pumpkins and squash varieties this year which you can enjoy picking, carving, creating, or cooking with! Refreshments available- yummy hot chocolates and ice cream from their very own Fox Box, and beastly burgers and spooky sausages from local farm Ragmarsh. Picnic area provided. Licensed bar for mulled cider, beer, prosecco and more! Corn maze trail with game. Bring your camera for all the amazing photo opportunities including Old American Truck, Fergie Tractor, Bale Sofas, love seat and more! Field of fun area includes: Hula hoops, Sack racing, Bale Mountain, Mini ride on tractors, Giant Sand pit, Football goals, Hamster Wheels, Bale mountain, Fun farm obstacles and more!

Hurleys Pumpkin Forest - Battlesbridge Woodham Road (Old Road), Battlesbridge, Wickford, Essex, SS11 7QL
Open 5th & 6th, 12th & 13th, 19th & 20th, 23rd - 31st October 
A range of tickets and ticket prices including off peak, early bird and twilight tickets. As always lots of great activities to keep everyone busy and having fun. Witches Welly Wanging, Pumpkin Bowling, Precious Ring Swing, Witches Maze and Pumpkin WizzBee and more. Thousands of different shapes and sizes of pumpkins and gourds and lots of Insta friendly photo opportunities. 
Tickets are from £3 per person or £10 for a family of 4. Babies under 12 months are free.

Pumpkin Village - Marsh Farm Rd, South Woodham Ferrers, Chelmsford CM3 5WP
Open 27th September - 31st October
There are a range of tickets available including daytime, twilight, dog friendly and SEND sessions. Visit includes the pumpkin picking patch, Halloween photo-ops, haunting Halloween shop, fang-tastic food & drink, spooky squash picking and free parking. Your ticket does not include access to Marsh Farm and does not include a pumpkin. 
Tickets are from £2.99 - £5.99 per person, babies under 6 months free. 

Cammas Hall Farm - Needham Green, Hatfield Broad Oak, Near Bishop’s Stortford, Hertfordshire CM22 7JT
Open from 5th & 6th, 10th - 13th, 16th - 20th, 22nd - 31st October 
This year's Halloween Pumpkin Patch is bigger, better and has even more surprises than ever before! Spooky Tunnels, Halloween Characters to interact with and of course the  giant erupting Pumpcano! There will also be seasonal snacks in the patch as well as 50 varieties of pumpkins and squash! Lots of photo opportunities and more. SEND sessions available.

Lathcoats Farm - Beehive Lane, Galleywood, CM2 8LX
Open 12th, 16th, 18th, 19th (as part of Apple Day), 21st, 24th - 26th, 28th - 31st Oct, 1st & 2nd Nov
The pumpkin patch will have lots of sizes and varieties for you to choose from but please bear in mind that near the end of the Pumpkin Festival the choice in size and variety will become limited. There is also a small undercover pumpkin patch, outdoor games and plenty of photo opportunities too! Make sure you book onto the Halloween Hunt as well for lots more fun, it includes access to the trail, an activity booklet, pencil and festive prize!  During your visit pop by the orchards and pick your own apples too (no additional booking needed)!  Please note on 19th October 2024 is the annual open day, 'Apple Day'. The pumpkin patch is included as part of this day and therefore only an Apple Day Ticket is needed.

Hasty's Adventure Farm - West Road, Clacton On sea CO15 1AG
Open 19th & 20th,  23rd - 31st October
The kids will love following the child-friendly Happy Ghost Trail, taking photos in the Pumpkin Selfie Areas and all the many other activities that add up to a whole day of fun for the family. Ticket includes all day entry to the farm. There are 3 options to choose from when booking so check which suits you and your family before you book.

PYO at Hatter's Farm - Takeley, Bishop's Stortford, CM22 6NP

Daytime and twilight sessions available. With over 75 varieties, whether you like knobbly ones, giant ones, tiny ones or colourful ones, Hatter's have it all. As well as pumpkin picking, there are plenty of other activities from the Pumpkin Cannons to the Maize Maze and  Bale Kingdom to Hatters Mad House. 

Cobbs Farm - Goldhanger, Maldon, Essex, CM9 8BQ
Open Fri 18th - Sun 20th, 24th - 31st Oct
This is a working farm and they only open to the public for a few days each year. Free entry, no booking, free parking! Open 10-4 daily.

Willows Activity Farm Pumpkin Festival - London Colney, St Albans, Hertfordshire AL4 0PF
Open 19th & 20th, 23rd - 31st October
Your visit includes all of the activities at Willows Activity Farm; the Peter Rabbit Adventure Playground, funfair rides, shows, meet and greets, adventure play, tractor ride, inflatable fun, Adventure Golf, Pumpkin Hunt and Gourds Grotto.

Scotts Pumpkin Barn - Southend SS4 1LQ
Open every day in October (garden centre opening hours apply)
This extremely popular pumpkin barn will be back and bigger than ever! It is now located in the new polytunnel in the car park. There is also a brand new outdoor pumpkin patch area to explore! There is free parking, disabled access and a cafe on site. Please note the cafe does get really busy at peak times. If you want even more spooky fun watch out for the Halloween VR Ride, Spooky Twilight Nights & Halloween Afternoon Tea all available to book.   Perfect for rainy days as most of the activities are under cover. SEND sessions are also available twice per week.
Tickets from £5 per person with under 2s going free.

Farmer Scott's Pumpkin Patch - Coxtie Green Road, South Weald, CM14 5RH
Open weekends in October and daily during October half term
Ticket includes entry, car parking and any size pumpkin. Pet friendly and photo opportunities in th4e stunning Essex countryside.

The Green Barn Pumpkin Field - North Benfleet Hall Farm Hall Road, Basildon, SS12 9JR
Open 28th & 29th Sept, 5th & 6th, 12th & 13th, 19th & 20th
An amazing pumpkin field spread over 10 acres with gorgeous photo opportunities. Price includes one pumpkin each and a ride on the pumpkin express, a vintage tractor taking brave souls to the pumpkin field and back, a ride on the vintage Land Rover, animals, pedal tractors, a bale pyramid and access to the spooky maize maze can be booked for £5 pp (usually £8) to be purchased on the day
