PR Visit
We were invited to visit Cosmo in The Brewery, Romford.
We arrived at 5pm on a Thursday, just after the restaurant had opened for the evening service. My 10 year old was very excited at the idea of a buffet as he couldn't remember visiting Cosmo when he was much younger. We were greeted at the reception desk and shown to our seats. Our waitress came over to our table to ensure we knew what to do and to bring us glasses to use at the drinks machine.
There is a vast selection of food available, something to suit every palate and even the pickiest of eaters. It's also a good opportunity for children (and adults) to sample things they've not eaten before. There is so much to choose from it would be impossible to try everything on offer!
We sampled various Chinese dishes including duck pancakes, chow mein, beef in black bean sauce, spare ribs and char sui pork. There was a selection of Indian curry dishes including korma, rogan josh, tikka masala with accompaniments of pilau rice, naan bread, poppadoms and pickles. The pizza station had a range of vegetarian and meat pizzas alongside a pasta servery which had spaghetti, bolognaise sauce, mac and cheese and other Italian themed options. We didn't visit the carvery but the roast beef, roast ham and vegetables looked inviting. There were various Thai inspired dishes and also some Mediterranean dishes. A selection of sushi, both vegetarian and meat/fish, was on display with dipping sauces and all the salad items looked very fresh.

Don't be worried that there isn't any food suitable for younger guests or those who are not as adventurous as there was a long table filled with favourites like sausages, fish fingers, chicken nuggets, hash browns and chips.
Everyone loves a dessert and there was a huge selection of cakes & cheesecakes, crumble and custard, Eton mess and a selection of ice creams. Portions are small so you can sample a couple of different options without feeling guilty! There is also an ice cream whippy machine with wafer cones, some sweets and marshmallows. The chocolate fountain takes centre stage, as you would imagine, tempting chocolate lovers of all ages! For those looking for a healthier option there was a selection of fresh fruit.

The staff were attentive and clearing plates and tables quickly. There is a disabled/accessible toilet on the ground floor with a baby changing table.
Cosmo Romford is a huge restaurant with a large seating area upstairs as well as on the ground floor. It isn't a cheap option for a family outing but it does offer something a little bit different with children under 155cm eating at a cheaper rate (see below). The tables are quite close together so I think buggies/prams may need to be left in an area near reception unless a specific request for more space can be met. High chairs are also available. The food we had was generally very nice although it wasn't all as hot as it could have been.
