Creative Writing Club
Age: 8 - 14
Hello Parents!
The Creative Writing Club is for aspiring authors (aged 8+) who enjoy writing, and want to learn how to write interesting and intriguing stories, while having fun! If you have a budding writer living with you, or you want to encourage a young person to explore and improve their creative writing skills, then this will be of great interest to you!
Your child will gain confidence in their own creative abilities, be able to brainstorm different ideas on various topics, improve their spelling, grammar and punctuation, and become creators of their own stories, plays and more!
Each month, they will work on writing both fiction and non-fiction, and become versatile at writing in many different genres. They will learn about creating interesting characters, how to use dialogue and description, how to weave an intriguing plot line, how to use conflict in their stories, and lots more! At the end of each lesson, students will be encouraged to read their work to the class, and their peers will give them feedback. The tutor will also mark their work and give them feedback and highlight areas for improvement.
Many of our past students have gone on to write and publish books, create blog series, start a YouTube channel, give TEDTalks, win writing competitions and lots more!
