Oughtonhead's hidden gem
Published: 27th November 2021
We had the absolute pleasure of visiting The Garden Gate Tearoom one Sunday afternoon in November.
I’ve been meaning to go for years, and I can safely say, it’s definitely going to be a regular spot for us as we love exploring Oughtonhead Nature Reserve.
The menu looks delicious (definitely need to go back for lunch!), the cakes were amazing (and not small!), the welcome was so warm and it’s just the loveliest little gem of a tearoom I wish I’d been to before.
Open Friday 11:30-3:30 and Saturday & Sunday 11:30 - 4:30
You don’t need to book
Indoor and outdoor seating
Delicious homemade cakes
Hot drinks
Lunches
Dog-friendly
We parked at the top of Redhill Road where it meets Oughtonhead Lane, then walked down the field, carried on straight for about 10 mins and then turned left just before you reach the woods and walked up a short incline before you see the farmhouse.
They're staying open until the week before Christmas, then close until Easter, so whack those walking boots on and get yourself down there before they close for winter.
