Hello autumn! Now that it is peak seasonal Insta pic season, if you’re itching to take those festive family photos, we’ve got just the pumpkin patch for you.
Here at Standalone Farm, we are hosting our very first pumpkin patch event! Explore a wide selection of pumpkins in various sizes, perfect for picking and picture-taking – Here are just a few tips to consider getting your perfect pic.
Colours - It might seem a bit excessive to plan the colour of your child’s clothing so that they coordinate with a certain location, but the right colour clothing can make a positive difference to your photographs. Olive greens, gold, rusts and browns are magical.
Light – At this time of year the sunlight around mid-afternoon can be beautiful, soft and give a different feel to the photographs taken, compared with a cloudier day for example (both still stunning but very different in their own right!).
Get down low – It really does create beautiful photographs when your able to get the whole family AND the pumpkins (amongst the foreground and background) all in shot at the same time.
Our Pumpkin Patch peeps will receive a 50% discount on farm entry for the same day. Children under 2 years old can attend the event for free and do not require a ticket.
You can expect a warm welcome at Standalone Farm. We are a delightful small working farm set in 125 acres of farmland on the outskirts of Letchworth Garden City. Explore our charming farmyard, meet our adorable and enjoy a great family day out!
Now let us hear you say “take me to the pumpkin patch”. We can’t wait to see you. Pre-book your tickets online here.

Applications for children due to start at secondary and upper school in September 2025 are now open.
The easiest way to apply for a school place is to visit www.hertfordshire.gov.uk/admissions and complete the online application form.
Last year, more than 94 per cent of children in Hertfordshire secured a position in one of their top four school choices.
The closing date for applications is Thursday 31st October 2024. It is vital that parents make their applications on time.
Thanks to Money Saving Central, we've got a run-down of the best nationwide places where you can save on eating out this Easter Holidays.
