Easter egg trail and family fun day at Lower Green, Tewin

The Tewin Cowper PTA Easter egg trail is back! Starting on the Lower Green in Tewin at 3pm, where there will be hot and drinks, hot cross buns and donuts, and walking through the field, across the Upper Green cricket pitch/field and over to the Plume of Feathers pub, where we'll finish with a family fun day! Bouncy castle, Easter-themed arts & crafts, tombola and face painting. Plus, of course, a FREE full-size Easter Egg for all paid kids. It's about a mile walk in total. A really lovely way to spend the afternoon!

Charity Fundraiser Weekend at Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre

Hitchin Swimming and Fitness Centre is set to host a special charity-focused fitness weekend later this month, raising vital funds for Garden House Hospice Care. The centre, managed by Everyone Active in partnership with North Herts Council, will run a series of free group exercise classes on Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March. These sessions will showcase the latest routines from the world-renowned Les Mills fitness programme, with participants invited to donate in support of the hospice. The event will introduce brand-new choreography, music and workout techniques, which will be incorporated into regular classes in the coming months. Everyone Active offers these internationally acclaimed Les Mills programmes across all of its facilities nationwide, catering to a variety of fitness levels, from high-intensity sessions to gentler options.

For a long time, people thought that making tools is what separates humans from other animals. History books used to talk about ‘man the toolmaker’, but we have discovered that many other animals – not just apes – also make and use tools. And the phrase doesn’t even include women!
What makes humans different? We have attachments to our things that no other animal seems to: we give it meaning and it holds memories. We can love it, and we use it to show who we are, Humanity’s unique behaviour is all based around our stuff.
This exhibition draws from all the Museum’s collections, from art to archaeology, from costume to natural history. Expect the unexpected!

Shaun The Sheep at Anglesey Abbey

Get ready for a baa-rilliant day out as Shaun the Sheep comes to Anglesey Abbey this spring. From 1 March to 27 April 2025, twelve ewe-niquely designed Shaun the Sheep sculptures will be displayed at the National Trust's Anglesey Abbey, Gardens and Lode Mill in Cambridgeshire. In collaboration with Wild in Art and Aardman, the Find the Flock trail promises fun for the whole family. Each super-sized Shaun the Sheep sculpture, standing tall at 160cm, will be positioned at iconic locations around the gardens at Anglesey Abbey. The flock has been painted by twelve different national and international artists with bright colours and funky, bold patterns. Visitors are invited to pick up a trail map and embaa-rk on a journey through art and adventure around the grounds, learning more about the artists as they go.
