Make a Thumb Pot
Celtic Harmony Camp
Sun 2nd March 2025
14:00 to 16:00
During the Neolithic (new Stone Age), people began making pottery for storing and cooking food.
Most small pots were made as pinch pots or thumb pots from a single ball of clay. A thumb pot or pinch pot is a simple clay pot made by sticking a thumb into a ball of clay and then pinching the clay between the thumb and the fingers.
Have a go at 'hand built' pottery guided by Gio and learn how to form the shape of your pot and decorate it with natural materials from the woodland. Designed for ages 4+.
