The club was originally set up to provide an opportunity for children who would not otherwise play organised football. This ethos of "Football for All" is still a central pillar of our club. In practice, this means a child who does not regularly play for their school team (or is a member of another youth football club), would get priority over a child who is in a school football squad.

Harpenden Rovers Youth FC is an extremely popular and successful club, and it is normal for each of the age groups to run at full capacity. As a result, entry to all sections has to be managed to ensure an even spread within each year, and to avoid creating un-manageable surges in numbers at a later date
