Herts Mind Matters
A natural human response to any form of distress is to avoid anything too painful. We have all been there, whether it be denying there is a problem or running away from the problem. One of the aims our therapeutic journey would be to stop avoiding and to begin unpacking your thoughts and feelings within a safe, containing, non-judgmental environment.
I have been a qualified Clinical Psychologist since 2015 and have over 14 years experience working in mental health with children, adults and families. I have worked mainly in the NHS within Child & Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS) post qualification and more recently within a higher education setting. I have a special interest in working with young people. I currently offer assessment and intervention to children and adults. I can also offer advice and support to parents who have children that are struggling with their mental health. I have recently undertaken specialist training in baby loss and have an interest in offering support to mothers during the peri-natal period.
I tailor the therapy to your individual needs, integrating a range of approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Therapy for trauma and other third wave therapies such as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT).
Coming from an ethnic minority background myself, I am keen to raise awareness about mental health and improve accessibility amongst ethnic minority groups.
I understand that taking the first step to reaching out for support can be difficult and daunting but it is often the catalyst for change and new possibilities.
If you are interested in pursuing a journey to a healthier mind with Herts Mind Matters, I offer a free non obligation phone call (up to 15 minutes) to discuss your needs to see if we are a good fit.
