Rothamsted Park is a beautiful green space with something for everyone to enjoy. It boasts wide open spaces, mature trees, hedgerows, woodland and meadows and is also rich in history.

There is a fabuous children's play area is designed with a nature theme and includes three distinct areas:
· The 'Whimsical Woodland' and 'Fantastic Forest' is aimed at children up to 5 years old.
· The 'Rambling River' area is designed for six to ten year olds as an independent and more challenging play experience.
· The 'Tree Tops' area provides a greater challenge for the older children from around 11 to 15 years.

The Park covers 23 hectares and is home to Harpenden's leisure centre, swimming pool and theatre, The Eric Morcambe Centre. It has grown to become a sports and recreation hub with a diverse range of facilities including football pitches, floodlit tennis courts and netball courts, cricket and a MUGA which is used for 5-a-side football, hockey, exercise classes and more. In 2023 Rothamsted Park's Artificial Grass Football Pitch opened - a new home for Harpenden Town FC and Colts FC, a first class addition to Rothamsted Park.
This is also the place for a gentle stroll, a dog walk and a quiet picnic with so many things to look at for nature lovers. The Town Council has published several guides including a walking guide and tree trail.

The Park is easily accessible on foot from Harpenden Town Centre. There are several car parks including the Harpenden Leisure Centre Car Park, the Baa Lambs Car Park (opposite the Silver Cup pub on the Common) and parking bays on Leyton Road, there is also a small car park at the Orchard Avenue entrance to the north of the Park. It is a five-minute walk from the train station and can be reached via the bus services to the Town Centre.
