Thousands Enjoy Harpenden Carnival 2024

Published:

On Saturday 24th June thousands descending on Harpenden Common to attend the annual Harpenden Carnival organised by Harpenden Town Council and Harpenden Round Table, and the sun even made an appearance!  As always this year's carnival was a free, community event, raising lots of money for the Town Mayor’s chosen charities: Youth Talk and the Harpenden Trust's Wellbeing Hub; and others selected by the Round Table.

Attendees were treated to music from the likes of vintage Rock’n’Roll band James and the Blue Moon, Sam Lewis, Number 7 and Maida Vales as well as entertainment from circus artist Richard Filby, comedy juggler Matt Bernard, Cha Char Chimps and Cotter Academy of Irish Dance.  All this plus the food court, outdoor bars and activities such as soft play, a climbing wall, archery, fairground rides, facepainting, bungee trampolines, inflatables, ferret racing, mini golf, charity stalls and much more made a fun packed day for all ages.

Take a look at more gorgeous photos below courtesy of Steve Collins at Harpenden Photographic Society, perhaps you might spot yourself! And if you missed it this year, don't worry, keep an eye on our What's On page or our social media pages and we'll share details of the 2025 event next year as soon as we have them.
