New Orleans Comes To Dunstable
Dunstable Library
Sat 26th April 2025
Visit Dunstable Library on Saturday 26 April for a day of crafting, learning, and participation inspired by New Orleans!
Join a free crafting workshop in collaboration with Luton based theatre ensemble and charity Tangled Feet exploring remembrance traditions in New Orleans. Decorate a parasol in memory of a lost loved one and participate in healing conversations about loss and bereavement.
The crafting session will run at 10.30am-11.30am & 12-1pm. To book your free place, call Dunstable library on 0300 300 8056.
Spaces are limited, children must be accompanied by an adult.
There will also be a free performance of A Waltz in New Orleans at 2pm, written by Lucas Keen and featuring a live band. This one man play depicts how jazz and the modern drum set came to be, and celebrates New Orleans famous Second Line parades and jazz funerals.
This project has been funded by the UK Government through the UK Shared Prosperity Fund administered by Central Bedfordshire Council.
