Luton - Dunstable Bus Way
The Luton-Dunstable Busway allows Luton to be reached from Houghton Regis and Dunstable in less than 30 minutes, putting Luton’s employment opportunities, airport and fast London trains within easy reach of Central Bedfordshire residents in Houghton Regis, Dunstable and the surrounding villages. The main part of the busway network is the specially constructed guideway between Houghton Regis, Dunstable and Luton town centres, with the route continuing on-road to London Luton Airport, stopping near Luton Airport Parkway station.
The busway provides 6.1 miles of segregated bus-only road, with a concrete track along a 4.8-mile section to take the two small guide wheels fitted at the front of standard buses, so vehicles can be guided along smoothly and hands-free at speeds of up to 50mph.
Dunstable Food Banks
Dunstable Food bank works on a referral system and therefore you will need a food bank voucher (red paper voucher, or E-Voucher code) from a referral agency that can be redeemed for a food parcel at one of our centres. If you don’t have a voucher, please contact one of the food banks main referral partners who can offer you help and support for your financial situation as well as referring you to us with a foodbank voucher. Dunstable food banks supports clients in LU5 and LU6 postcodes only.

Citizens Advice Dunstable

The Advisers will research your options and look at the possible outcomes of different courses of action. They will not tell you what to do but encourage you to make your own decisions. They will help you to make informed decisions by advising on your specific needs and giving you the facts on which to base those decisions. Household Waste & Recycling Centre
Proof of address is required when attending the household waste and recycling centres as they are only open for residents in the local area. Open 7 days a week, from 9am to 5pm – with some changes to opening hours over the Christmas and New Year period. Tidy tips are open on all other bank holidays. New centre bus service
A new Centre bus service which launched in March 2024 runs from Luton through Dunstable to Whipsnade Zoo during the school holidays. The timetable can be found here.
