Press Trip - Easter 2024
We are already big fans of Cammas Hall and love a visit for fruit or pumpkin picking, but this Easter we got invited to come along to their Woodland Pirate Easter Trail and their show Treasure Island!
With it being typical English weather, we donned our wellies for the trip (a must if there has been any rain as it does get muddy), and headed over! On arrival, we received our clue card with a promise of treasure at the end if we could work out the secret code. My eldest two (7 and 4) ran off straight away and couldn’t wait to find their first clue!
On the way, they worked out their pirate names as Long-John Kidd and Patchy Lobster-Legs! The trail took us into the woodland where we met a mermaid and practiced walking the plank (this was Tom’s favourite bit!). We met pirates along the way who told us a variety of Dad jokes which made me laugh and invited us onto their ship!
Coming out of the trail, we spent some time playing with the outside games that were set up. Garden games like noughts and crosses (or strawberries and blueberries in this case!), bean bag throwing and lots more!
We managed to crack the code and the children received their loot – a whole bag of chocolate coins and eggs, and we treated ourselves to a hot chocolate and some food from the pizza ovens and BBQ which was delicious!
There was also the usual cakes and hot snacks available from the café which was very tempting!
We headed into the event tent for the show Treasure Island which was fantastic! With only two actors they engaged the audience and the children particularly enjoyed the sword fight!
As always, we can’t leave Cammas Hall without having a play park and sandpit, and even though it was slightly muddy, this just added to the fun for the kids!
Thank you for inviting us Cammas Hall, we all had a great time and will be back!
