Play and Creative Counselling for Children, Teens and Young Adults
Knowing how best to support your child can be difficult. I'm a counsellor and supervisor working with children and young adults (4-25) feeling anxious or down, having difficulties attending school or college, or perhaps having more serious thoughts. I also work with families and offer parent consultations.
I am an accredited BACP counsellor with 30 years of experience as a teacher, SEND specialist, parent, and counsellor. I'm also Barnardo's child-related adoption trained (Ofsted registered). I use a creative approach to help families tackle the challenges of education, friendships, and identity. We will work towards a greater understanding of the difficulties experienced, exploring solutions and fostering wellbeing for the whole family.
I am experienced in a number of different issues affecting young people, including:
Low self-esteem
Poor social skills
Anxiety
Depression
School Avoidance (Anxiety Related Non-Attendance)
OCD
Self-Harm
Suicidal Thoughts
Trauma
Family and Relationship Issues
Bereavement
Body Image and Gender Identity
