about us

Hello. I'm Philippa (or Pippa or Pip) and I've taken over as the site manager of Mum's guide to Biggleswade as of September 2024.

I've lived in Biggleswade for over a decade and currently live in Langford with my husband Chris, Big T (our five year old labrador), and Little T (our daughter born in February '24).

I enjoy creative hobbies including painting and photography, although since having Little T it's mostly just been photos of her! As family we love exploring and taking advantage of the great resources we have around us. Whether that be the gorgeous countryside, community events and activities or great places to eat, we will give it a go.

Since becoming a parent I've discovered just how many wonderful groups and classes excist not only to entertain Little T, but also to support me in adjusting to life as a Mum. When I discovered this site, I was pleased to find so many exciting things listed and when I saw they were in need of a site manager it seemed the perfect fit for me.

I work as a project manager, but have also had experience as a writer, social media manager, secondary school teacher and event organiser. Skills gained from these various experiences, plus my passion for supporting families, particularly in the local community, means I have been lucky enough to join the Mum's Guide To team as the site manager for Biggleswade.

I'm thrilled to have responsibility for this community resource and can't wait to start connecting with local families, groups and businesses to make sure the site stays as comprehensive as possible.

Whatever family looks like to you, it's my aim to make sure Mum's guide to Biggleswade has you covered.

About Mum’s Guide To Ltd

Mum's Guide To Ltd began in 2012 when four mums from Harpenden set-up a website to give local families in a comprehensive, one-stop shop to find all the information they needed about living in the area with children.  The site quickly grew to become the most popular site for Harpenden parents and carers. In 2017 the mums decided to spread their wings by launching Mum’s guide to UK giving parents across the country the opportunity to set up their own local Mum’s Guide To sites.

Our philosophy is quite simple:

  • Each site focuses on a single town and is run by local parents.
  • It covers children of all ages from bumps to teens.
  • It’s as comprehensive as possible - covering activities and things to do, parties, local facilities, services and child-friendly businesses.
  • We are pro-active about seeking out new businesses and keeping the information up-to-date.
  • A basic listing is always free so even the smallest groups and new businesses can be included.
