Emily Thornton School of Dance
Age: 2 - Adult
Emily Thornton School of Dance has lots to offer the local community. With lessons starting at 18 months. Children are welcome to a free trial. These are the styles we have to offer:
Tap - helps children with rhythm and timing, all the children love it as they get wear noisy shoes!

Ballet- is the most disciplined subject with more concentration on technique, a good base for anyone who wants to dance. I would personally recommend everyone does ballet as it will help in all other dance styles.

Modern - what is it? Modern is like jazz, it has more technique than street (not as funky) but isn't quite as disciplined as ballet. It is one of the core subjects in dance. Come and give it a try, everyone loves it when then do it!

Street - is all the rage at the moment with everyone doing it on the tv. Come along and dance to your favourite pop song, whilst learning some great moves. We have boys only classes from age 10+.

Contemporary- contemporary dance tends to utilize both the strong and controlled legwork of ballet and modern dance's stress on the torso, and also employs contract-release, floor work, fall and recovery, and improvisation characteristic of modern dance.
Acro- Helps you learn your tricks and improve your flexibilty. Mainly floor based gymnastics.
Please do get in touch if you would like come and have a try.
