Education & childcare

Ickwell Pre-school is a well established, rurally located village pre-school, accommodated within Ickwell village hall. Our children have access to two large and well equipped play rooms, an enclosed outdoor play area with safety surface and an excellent range of open ended resources and equipment. We have a nature garden with a pond and wormery, our children can play in the large mud kitchen, storytelling area or build dens. Situated adjacent to the village green we also have open access to natural green space and local woodland.

Our Ethos
As a setting we pride ourselves in providing good quality education and care for all our children, within a safe, caring and happy learning environment. We achieve this by placing a strong emphasis on the benefits of learning through play and recognising the importance of a nature-based learning approach. We firmly believe this inspires and encourages our children to be confident, enthusiastic, and resilient learners.

Daily access to our natural environment gives opportunity for each, individual child's natural interests, play and curiosity to blossom. This allows them the freedom to engage in countless opportunities of creativity, problem solving, risk taking behaviours and so much more!!!
