IN WELWYN
Tewin Orchard represents an almost extinct feature of the English countryside: that of small village orchards with varied and often local fruit varieties. Today the orchard is great for apples & pears and home to a wide variety of wildlife. In autumn and winter the apples attract large numbers of redwings, fieldfares and blackbirds.

This delightful area lies around the southern boundaries of the QEII Hospital and has a range of habitats including oak woodland, calcareous fen, meadows, ditches and ponds. Access is via footpaths off The Commons, Howlands and Caponfield in Welwyn Garden City

Based in Welwyn Garden CityThis play area is enclosed and close to houses. There is a roundabout, two springers and toddlers swings. There are two benches for parents to sit and watch their children play.
As one of the largest and most challenging courses of its kind, this is outdoor entertainment at its very best - do you have the head for heights to take on the 30ft "Hawks View" high ropes course? Or perhaps the "Monkey Trail" at just 10ft high will bring the ape out in you. Don't forget to try the zip, climbing wall or plummet from the summit on the powerfan descender.

This is a small site with a metal climbing frames, a springer, a swing hammock and a spinning bowl. There is another site close by.
OUTSIDE WELWYN
Freejumping at our trampoline park on Stevenage Leisure Park is a super way to explore the whole park and try out all the activities that we have on offer. Ashridge Estate is a 2,000 hectare (5,000 acres) area of the Chiltern Hills with beech and oak woodlands, commons and chalk downlands. These very different landscapes each support a rich variety of wildlife, including carpets of bluebells in spring, rare butterflies in summer and fallow deer that rut in autumn. The best way to explore the Ashridge Estate is on foot or by bike. Miles of footpaths and bridleways give you plenty of space to explore, and if you drop into the visitor centre we'll be happy to share our favourite routes with you. We also have mobility scooters if you aren't able to explore under your own steam.
