Knead & Desire Bakehouse is an award winning small batch bakery making handcrafted organic sourdough bread. Made
through slow natural fermentation, typically 24-36 hours, this aids digestion and develops a deeper flavour, aroma and
crust.​
Provenance of ingredients is important to us, and we pride ourselves on using only the highest quality ingredients and
organic flour. Our longer-term aim is to source all our flour (and other ingredients) from local organic and sustainable farms and mills. ​
We make a wide range of breads, alternating these weekly, available freshly baked for pick-up at the Bakehouse or for
delivery direct to customers in Welwyn, Welwyn Garden City, Hertford, and the surrounding villages. We are also at
Farmers Markets in Welwyn Garden City, Hertford, and Ware.
