You obviously have an idea that pilates in pregnancy is good as you are here! But maybe you're not sure exactly or what the importance of exercise whilst pregnant is. Here's some benefits of pregnancy Pilates:
Keeps your pelvic floor strong - so important during and after pregnancy. You might not think so now, but if you want to go on a trampoline at some point you will be thanking your pregnancy pilates!
It will help to strengthen your abdominal muscles, ie your core, to counter the effects of the pregnancy hormone relaxin that cause your ligaments to become more flexible. This will help to reduce the likelihood of pelvic and lower back pain.
Help you to take control of your breathing. This is a key part of any Pilates class, especially pregnancy and will be good for you and your baby as a stress reliever. This is also incredibly powerful for you during labour.
How is your balance? Pregnancy Pilates will help your core strength which will help your balance and awareness of your posture.
Pilates is a great way to burn those calories and help you to get back to your pre-birth weight, to feel stronger, fitter and happier.
