The Young Carers Team at Carers in Hertfordshire supports young carers under the age of 19. A young carers is defined as someone who provides or intends to provides support for a family member who would struggle without their support. This might be practical support, emotional care or personal care to someone who is physically or mentally ill, disabled, or misuses alcohol or drugs. We offer information guidance and advice, can come to visit you at home, school or in the community to offer a young carers assessment and we run activities in school holidays to have some time away from caring.
