ST ALBANS CITY & DISTRICT COUNCIL
The council offices are located at the Civic Centre, St Peters Street, St Albans, AL1 3JE. Their website is www.stalbans.gov.uk and has a lot of incredibly useful information. Should you need to talk to someone face to face, their main reception is open from 08:45 - 17:15 Monday to Thursday and 08:45 - 16:45 on Fridays. More contact information can be found here.
You can register for a MyStAlbans District Account here. Once registered you’ll be able to manage your council tax, register to vote, find information on recycling and much more.
ST ALBANS POLICE STATION
St Albans Police Station is not open to the public and does not have a front desk service however there is a free outside public telephone to the Police Control room. This can be found at the Civic Centre, St Peters Street, St Albans, AL1 3JE.

The nearest walk-in police station is Hatfield Police Station at Comet Way, Hatfield AL10 9SJ.
ST ALBANS LIBRARY
The St Albans Library is located in The Maltings Shopping Centre (AL1 3JQ) in town. The opening hours are:
- Monday: 10:00 – 18:00
- Tuesday: 10:00 – 19:00
- Wednesday: 10:00 – 18:00
- Thursday: 10:00 – 18:00
- Friday: 10:00 – 18:00
- Saturday: 10:00 – 17:00
- Sunday: 12:00 – 16:00
Like all the Hertfordshire libraries, it’s an excellent place for more than just books; offering baby and toddler groups, printing services, baby change and computers.
The current opening times are:
Monday - Friday:10am - 5pm
Saturday: 10am - 4pm
Sunday:Closed
Services are limited. You are requested to only browse for up to 15 minutes, baby and toddler groups are not running and computers must be pre-booked.

VISITOR INFORMATION CENTRE
The Visitor Information Centre (VIC) is currently located in the Alban Arena at the Civic Centre.
FOODBANK
Should you need to use or wish to donate to the St Albans District Food Bank you can find more information on their website.
THE HOUSEHOLD WASTE RECYCLING CENTRE
The Household Waste Recycling Centre (also known as the tip!) is located at 14 Ronsons Way, Sandridge, St Albans, AL1 4AP. It is closed on Tuesdays and Wednesdays but open the rest of the week from 10:00 - 18:00 in the summer and 08:00 - 16:00 in the winter.
MARKET DAYS
St Albans Market is on St Peter’s Street every Wednesday and Saturday (all day). St Albans Farmers’ Market is also on St Peter’s Street on the second Sunday of the month from 08:00 - 14:00.
PUBLIC TOILETS
There are lots of public loos around St Albans. You can find a list of them on the council website. Very useful to know especially if you’re about to embark on potty training!
WESTMINSTER LODGE LEISURE CENTRE
Westminster Lodge Leisure Centre (Holywell Hill, St Albans AL1 2DL) boasts a 180-station gym, 3 pools, sports hall, spa, group fitness studio, soft play and climbing wall, and and offers activities and classes for all ages.
