Southend Museum was built in 1905-6 at a cost of £9,374 and originally housed Southend Library.
The building was commissioned and paid for by the philanthropist Andrew Carnegie, a Scottish-born American immigrant, who went from rags to riches in the steel manufacturing industry.

The Heritage Centre stands in the Centre of the Old Town in the old Smithy. Along with many other buildings in the Old Town the Smithy was purchased by the Borough Council many years ago with a view to a development which never took place and it was allowed to fall into disrepair until the Leigh Society formed and decided to rescue the building.

Prittlewell Priory was founded by the Cluniac Order in the early 12th century as a cell to the Priory of St Pancras at Lewes, Sussex.

Southchurch Hall is Grade I Listed Medieval moated house located in the Southchurch district of Southend-on-Sea.
The Hall was home to farming families until the 1920s. In 1930 it was extensively restored and presented to the town of Southend by the Dowsett Family. The Hall has been listed in Jenkins' top 1000 houses in England.
