The Canvey Island Miniature Railway has two separate tracks for our members and the public to ride on. The oldest track is a raised 5 inch & 3 1/2 inch gauge track that was constructed in the 1970s. It is approximately 460 meters (1500 feet) in length; when we open to the public we take the public round the raised circuit twice.

Fun for all the family. Come and ride behind steam and diesel engines along our mile of track with the station in the middle. A country railway with just under a mile of track on the site of the original Colne Valley and Halstead Railway. Steam and diesel engines, carriages, wagons, signal boxes, stations and bridges.

Immerse yourself in a real steam railway museum and get up close and personal to our wide collection of steam trains, diesel locomotives and vintage carriages. Our atmospheric Victorian buildings, restored trains and working signal boxes tell a unique story of a time when the railway was the largest employer in the region.

Step back in time with us and experience the romance of travel in bygone times as you pass through picturesque countryside, beautiful forest and historic towns. We are both the longest heritage railway in Essex, easily accessible via the tube network. Our vintage buses start from Epping and Shenfield stations, whisking you back in time to our period stations, with heritage steam and diesel hauled trains. All three heritage transport experiences are included in one great value ticket - and it's valid ALL day long!
