Godmanchester Town Council are non-political and work together to make the town an even better place to live. Duties include maintaining recreation facilities and buildings, looking after the cemetery, and commenting on planning applications. They endeavour to achieve as many extra initiatives as possible.
Town council meetings take place on the 3rd Thursday of the month at 7.30 in the town hall and anyone is welcome to attend. The first 3 minutes are reserved for members of the public to speak about anything they wish.
Godmanchester Youth Council meets monthly during term time only. Membership is open to all the town's young people aged between 12 and 23 interested in making the town an even better one to grow up in.

Huntingdon Police Station is located on Ferrars Road. To report less urgent crime or disorder, to contact the police with a general enquiry or to speak to a local officer, dial 101. 101 is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. The system will identify where you are calling from and connect you with the local police for that area.
Huntingdon Library is located on Princes Street. Two disabled car park spaces available, otherwise please use nearby public car parks. Bus station is located nearby, railway station about 3/4 mile towards Brampton.
Safety is our priority so we have put measures in place to make sure that people feel confident and secure in using our library services. We have introduced a maximum capacity for each building so you may have to queue at busy times, and for the time being, customers won’t be able to sit or study while visiting the library.
We are also asking people to use the NHS test and trace app when they enter the building, or if they don’t have a smartphone, we will take their details for the same purpose.
Books can be returned during opening hours. There will be a trolley to place your books and other items. You will be able to use the self service technology to return your items during opening times

Post offices are located in WH Smiths, Huntingdon (122-123 High St) and in the One Stop Shop on the Causeway in Godmanchester.
Should you need one, you can find a Launderette located in St Ives.
With frequent trains to London it is no wonder Huntingdon Station is so busy. However, if you are unfamiliar with the station it is good to know what to expect. The car park has 799 spaces and is controlled by number plate recognition. Charges vary depending on time of day. Bicycle parking is also available. Toilets are available in the booking hall and on platform 2. There is also a baby change available. Waiting rooms are available on platform , there is an ATM on platform 2, and there are refreshments available outside the station entrance. There is a lift to get you over the footbridge to platform 3.
The ticket office is open Monday - Friday 06:15 - 20:00, Saturday 06:15 - 20:00, and Sunday 08:15 - 20:00. Collection of pre-paid tickets are available from the ticket machines which are located by the main ticket office and also on the other side by platform 3. Please note that work on removing the A14 flyover and building a new station car park has started and will last until December 2021. Temporary road access to the station is currently in use which is clearly signposted. For further information about the scheme please visit the Highways England website.

Huntingdon Leisure Centre is open Monday to Thursday 6.30am to 9.30pm, Friday 6.30am to 8.30pm, Saturday and Sunday 7.30am to 7.30pm. It features Swimming pool
fitness studios, indoor cycling studio, gym, sports hall, squash and racketball courts, netball courts, outdoor synthetic pitch. There is also a creche, Leo's Funzone and the Nest cafe althought these are temporarily closed due to coronavirus restrictions. To use One Leisure facilities all customers require a One Card membership (£2 one-off payment). All One Leisure activities must be pre-booked and paid for in advance. There are three recycling centres all within a similar distance to Huntingdon Centre. These are in Alconbury, Bluntisham and St. Neots. Visit the Huntingdonshire District Council website to see a full list of all the items you can recycle here. All sites are open every day except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day. They are free of charge to use, but do not accept waste from businesses.
A temporary advance booking scheme has been introduced for all visitors to Alconbury, Bluntisham and St Neots household recycling centres. You can find further information and make a booking on the County Council's website.

Huntingdonshire District Council work with ASTCO to provide textile recycling banks in Huntingdonshire. All materials collected from the clothing banks are re-used, with textiles providing reusable clothing for the UK and third world countries by doing so also helping reduce waste from going into landfill. The recycling banks can accept clothing and textiles such as sheets, pillowcases and blankets. The nearest textile recylcing banks are at: Sapley Playing Fields car park, Latham Road, Medway Centre, One Leisure, St Peters Road, Riverside Park, near Primrose Lane, St Germain Street car park and also Bridge Place car park in Godmanchester. Cambridgeshire County Council run a youth in community’s service, lead by youth and community professionals and small project teams. Youthoria is the website for 11-19 year olds in Cambridgeshire and has all sorts of information on life, work, learning etc.
Youth Support Centres are run by Cambridgeshire County Council. The Youth Support Centres offer confidential support to young people by providing information, advice, guidance and practical help, on a wide range of topics including career planning, education, job seeking, training, benefits, housing issues, personal health-including C-Card, your rights, volunteering and free time activities. Godmanchester Foodbank, run by The Trussell Trust, is located at the Godmanchester Baptist Church and supplies people from around the district including Huntingdon, Bluntisham and Papworth.
