A free family friendly Halloween trail!
Find the 10 spooky characters across St Albans City Centre!
In Totally Spooking Out, players follow along with a full Halloween story, solve riddles, take selfies with spooky digital masks in AR.

Use your phone to track down all 10 characters in the windows of 10 businesses in St Albans City Centre, scan the displayed QR code and try on a spooky mask in augmented reality (AR).

How to:

Step 1 - Start by scanning a QR code on any poster

Step 2 - Read out the little challenges for your mini ghost hunters...

Step 3 - Then click the 'Meet' button and the spooky masks will be revealed in augmented reality on your phone...

Step 4 - Take fun selfies and make videos with each of them...

Step 5 - Visit all 10 in any order...

Step 6 - Mission complete! Share your photos with @shopstalbans

All you need is your mobile phone and you are set to go track down the characters. The trail works without the need to download or sign up to anything, and works on any smart device. Make sure your QR code scanning setting is activated on your phone.

The trail takes about forty-five minutes to complete but can be completed in more than one visit. It's completely free for families and groups to take part in and there's a free digital fun pack at the end.
