Get ready it's coming! Next Saturday is Hitchin's Apple Day!

Pop down between 10am and 2pm to check out all the lovely apple-related activities going on including apple tasting, heritage varieties, the launch of this season's Triangle Garden apple juice, delicious home made jams and chutneys, Cam Valley apples and pears to buy, and fun stuff for kids. All money raised goes to supporting our nature connection work with the local community and disadvantaged groups.

This year we're delighted to welcome two North Herts community orchards - Great Wymondley Community Orchard and The Secret Orchard in Ickleford, who are planning to bring a working apple press! So if you still have surplus apples, bring them down for pressing (with a suitable container for the juice).

As well as super cool sustainability stalls from @thewildlifetrusts, @RSPB, @friends_earth and @takethejumpnow, @dr_bike_hitchin will be present to give your bike a free autumn check up - promoting sustainable travel.

And as always there'll be delicious goodies from @zuckermaus_bakery - apple cakes and strudel, @brocklebys_pies - apple pies and more, apple pastries from @dopa.delights, and honey from @buzzworks_ah
