Anyone else feel like they've just sent the kids back after Christmas but somehow Half term looms upon us!
Luckily there is so much to do in Hemel Hempstead, below I've highlighted all the free events I can find and budget friendly activities and days out.
EVENTS
Saturday 17th and Sunday 18th Feb 2-3pm. Mintelogi- Robots and coding workshop at Hemel Hempstead Library. Age 5+ £3 per child. no booking required but limited spaces.
Monday 19th February 330-5pm. Virtual Reality Experience at Abbots Langley Library. for all ages, no need to book. Suggested donation of £3
Tuesday 20th February Celebrate Chinese New Year with Arts and Crafts, facepainting and a trail to do around the shops. Free to attend, from 10am in the centre Court (by the soft play)

Pets at home are running their My Pet Pal winter workshops from the 10th- 24th February. bookable online here booking form
Tring Natural HIstory museum is free to visit, tickets available to book online here Tring Museum is also running an "Animal Superheroes" event on the 13, 15, 20 and 22 February at various times. Tickets are £2 each, payable on the day
BUDGET FRIENDLY ACTIVITIES
Peppas Cinema Party at £5 per ticket showing all half term at Cineworld Sing and Dance along to 10 brand new episodes.
Ringo slides at the the snow centre. £12 per child which includes snow boots and helmet. suitable for ages 4+
Stay and Play at sapphire Gymnastics. 915-1015. If the weather is rubbish this is a great way to get some energy out. Please note as of February 2024 sessions are bookable online ONLY. walk ins will not be allowed, book here
Hemel Hempstead Treasure Trail A spy mission around Hemel Hempstead cracking codes to defeat the Bonkers architect Zebedee Goldfinger. suggested age 6years + £9.99 per family
FUN DAYS OUT
woodside farm Open for half term with piglets, sheep and lots of other animals to feed and hold. Fun fair rides, crazy golf and giant pillows to jump on are all included in the entry price! Plus indoor soft play if the weather turns or to just warm up. Furthermore for half term they have a Princess and Pirate hunt around the farm. Woodside farm are offering 20% off entry tickets when you book online.
Whipsnade Zoo Over Half Term they are running a 'Vets in Action' event where junior vets will be prepped with lab coats before helping experts examine, diagnose and carry out treatments on toy animals, experiencing first-hand the huge variety of work carried out by the Zoo’s vets, vet nurses and zookeepers – from a red panda health check to caring for rescued tortoises. Event is included in the ticket price
cedarsnaturecentre is a small but lovely conservation centre in Cheshunt. £2.40 per person, payable on the gate. They also have a pokemon card swap day on the 18th February.
Aldenham country park has loads to keep children entertained for the day. free activities include walking around the nature trails and the hundred acre wood, or visiting the farm where you can also bottle feed lambs ( prebook here ) please note that car parking is £5 a day and the adventure playground is currently closed due to flooding.
