Dunstable Downs National Trust
Dunstable Downs is the highest point in the East of England and one of the best-known viewpoints on the Chilterns ridge. The wide-open spaces make it perfect for a family day out with designated kite flying area and picnic spots.
1,000 acres of chalk grasslands is yours to roam, alongside the rare wildlife that call it their home. At the base of the Downs there are ancient archaeological burial mounds and Medieval rabbit warrens that can be explored by following our waymarked Stone Age walk. Tramper mobility scooters available for those with impaired mobility. Please contact us in advance to check availability for your visit.
We run a varied programme of events throughout the year from our hugely popular Easter egg trails to our Summer of Sport activities where you can come and use our free outdoor play equipment. Check out our website to see what's on.
Unwind with sweet and savoury treats at the café and indulge in some retail therapy at the shop.
Dunstable Downs has something for everyone!
