Located on the site of a former steam driven silk mill, & later enormous Brooke Bond tea factory, this volunteer-run museum looks forward to welcoming you. Its three rooms consider the history, industry & mysteries of Redbourn village through changing exhibitions. Local history books, videos, pictures, cards & other gifts on sale. Open Feb-Nov. Visitor parking but limited access for people with disabilities. Donation appreciated!

In the Roald Dahl children's gallery you can boggle your eyes and baffle your brain and let your imagination run wild! Discover inventions with Willy Wonka, investigate minibeasts inside the giant peach, crawl along Fantastic Mr Fox's tunnel, see the Twits' upside down room, explore sounds with the BFG and lots lots more.

Visit our great little award-winning Museum, situated in the Buckinghamshire village where Roald Dahl lived and wrote for 36 years. The Museum, aimed at 6 to 12 year olds, features three interactive galleries. Boy gallery looks at Roald Dahl's school days while Solo gallery houses his original Writing Hut. The Story Centre puts your imagination centre-stage with fantabulous activities to inspire the writer in you. Closed on Mondays.

Described by Historic England as 'the most important site for the history of explosives in Europe' this remarkable and beautiful landscape is nowadays a visitor attraction, telling the stories of explosives, propellants and finally rocket motors and fuels from the Civil War to the Cold War. We run schools programmes for local school children. We bring fun science to families during Open Days and Events. We mount talks and tours. Rich with wildlife too, we love guiding people around! So come along and interact!

RSPB Rye Meads is a delightful wetland nature reserve beside the River Lee. The trails around the reserve are wheelchair and pushchair accessible, with several sheltered hides for watching wildlife. Scott's Grotto is a series of interconnected chambers, extending some 67ft into the chalk hillside. It is rumoured to have cost £10,000 and is thought to have taken 30 years to complete. The chambers and tunnels are lined with shells, flints and pieces of coloured glass. The grotto is open 2-4.30pm on each Saturday & Bank Holiday Monday between April 1st and September 28th.
