St Mary's Church
Featured in the Doomsday Book as a Minster, St Mary's Church sits at the centre of Hitchin town and holds a commanding prominence due to its size. Much of the Church was built during the 14th and 15th Century, however the site was first built on more than 1000 years ago. Features include the 15th Century font and the animal carvings on the front pews. One of the country's best known conductors, Sir Henry Joseph Wood attended St Mary's Church frequently in later life.
Popular grassy area in front of the church for little ones to see the ducks on the river.
