New QEII Hospital
All remaining emergency and inpatient services at the QEII have now moved to the Lister hospital in nearby Stevenage, which has been transformed through around £150 million being invested in new facilities.
Locally a new £30 million QEII hospital has been built by the East and North Hertfordshire Clinical Commissioning Group on the same site as the existing hospital. Services from the old hospital have all but moved across to the New QEII following a phased process from 17 May through to 19 June 2015. On completion, the New QEII will have a full range of outpatient, diagnostic and ante natal services, as well as a 24/7 Urgent Care Centre for treating adults and children of all ages with minor injuries and illnesses.
The New QEII hospital is located in Welwyn Garden City, Hertfordshire. Please click here to find out how to get to the New QEII and here to find out more about the facilities available to patients and their visitors.
