St Albans Signal Box South

Visit the largest preserved Midland Railway signal box and one of the few preserved boxes open to the public on a mainline railway. Continuous signaling demonstrations, railway videos and slideshow of the restoration, many signaling items on display, including single line 'tablet' machines, and other railway-related exhibits. Working signals, old signs and other exhibits in the garden. Garden railway with Thomas the Tank Engine and friends. No need to book. Light refreshments are available on open days. Entrance is FREE, and donations are always welcome.
