Children's activity clubs & classes

All of our instructors are either current or former national, European or world champions in their own field and have years of experience of professional teaching both with children and adults - all have enhanced DBS checks, First Aid qualifications and are comprehensively insured.

Our reputation in the Colchester and North Essex area is second to none and we have featured on BBC, ITV and Channel 4.

We hold classes to cater for everyone's individual needs - regardless of age, gender and level of fitness and whether you have sporting ambitions or just want to improve your well-being, boost your confidence and meet people in our fun, sociable classes.

Little Dragons
This is where it all starts for the young Martial Artists. From aged 3 to 5 our young warriors learn Karate Basics and Kick Boxing techniques. With a splash of fun mixed in as well.

Karate.
We practice Korean Karate here at SDSMA, a very dynamic style with lots of jumping kicks and explosive Kata's. There is a grading system that takes you on a journey from a White belt through to Black belt.

Kick Boxing.
Based on American Kick Boxing style this incorporates both Karate and Boxing techniques. Be prepared to work hard !
We run a grading system for Kick Boxing again taking you from a Whit e to Black belt.

MMA & BJJ.
Mixed Martial Arts and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu are synonymous with cage fighting but have their roots in all Martial Arts styles. The 2 disciplines are linked together here as the training program is intrinsically linked with each other. Along the way you will pick up many self defence techniques from our expert instructors.

Muay Thai.
Muay Thai is Kick Boxing Asian style and can be traced back to the 16th Century. Very focused on striking with the legs, knees, elbows and hands it is a very powerful discipline

Boxing.
This does not need an introduction and is not widely known as the noble art for nothing. SDSMA are very lucky to have some top class Boxing coaches including a former Commonwealth cruiserweight Champion !
