Established in 2003, Ilaz Dance Company is a small, community based dance school in the heart of Colchester. We are open to everyone aged 6 months to adult and aim to provide a friendly, welcoming and inclusive setting for students to learn, develop and grow, in both dance technique and confidence.
Our classes are engaging, varied, and designed for both those who seek a career in dance or are looking for the perfect form of exercise.
We offer classes in a variety of styles including Modern/Jazz, Ballet, Tap and Musical Theatre and we have classes suitable for beginners through to advanced.
We are completely performance and enjoyment based. We do not not follow a strict, monotonous syllabus and our classes are adapted to suit the students. We do not compete or take exams however we perform at every opportunity possible. The ability to perform in a variety of situations, to make adaptations based on locations and space and to adjust to differing audiences is a skill which Ilaz Dance Company believes is of the uppermost importance for anyone wishing to pursue a future in dance, plus it's fun!
