Children's activity clubs & classes

PQA is a weekend performing arts academy providing tuition for children and young people from 4-18 years.
The PQA model was created by Pauline Quirke MBE and her dedicated team of performing arts specialists. Students are split into groups according to their age with tailored classes and expert performing arts teachers. We provide a space for children and young people to express themselves, build confidence and, most importantly, have fun! Students spend three hours with us, rotating through hour-long sessions in Comedy & Drama, Musical Theatre and Film & Television. We offer some amazing performance opportunities, including local and national film screenings, performances at local venues and even in London's West End. Above all, however, our focus is on creating a fun, nurturing, and safe environment in which students can develop their confidence, explore their creativity, make friends and feel like part of a community of like minded young people.

The Colchester branch of PQA launched in 2015 and we run sessions on Saturday mornings (9.45am-1.00pm) and Saturday afternoons (1.45-5.00pm). After Easter, we will be opening a Friday evening session, which will run from 4.30-8.00pm. To celebrate the launch of our Friday Academy, we will be holding a free open day on Friday, 26th April, in which young people and their families can come and experience our classes and learn more about PQA.
