Did you know that you can join a library for FREE?
Absolutely any one can join the library, you can borrow books for free, if your local library doesn't have the book you're after you can request it and they will order it in from another library for you.
The only time you need to pay is if you fail to return your book when it's due back.
Children can join the library too and the good news is they do NOT have to pay overdue fees!
Some of our local libraries also host various events/classes for both adults and children.
Within Colchester we have a few libraries to choose from:
Colchester Library - located in the centre of town, at the moment it is currently undergoing refurbishment until Autum 2025
Greenstead Library - Rhymetime Sessions run here every Monday morning 10:00-10:30
Prettygate Library - Rhymetime sessions run here every Friday morning 09:30-10:30 and Adult book groups run once a month
Stanway Library - Rhymetime sessions run here every Thursday morning 10:30-10:50
West Mersea Library - Rhymetime sessions run here every Friday 10:00-11:00
Wivenhoe Library - Rhymetime sessions run here every Thursday 11:00-11:30 and games clubs held on various days (these vary so please check the library website)
