Set at the foot of the Ashridge estate, The Trooper is a modern country pub at the heart of Aldbury village. We invite you to eat, drink and relax.

Our historical pub offers a warm and friendly place to enjoy a meal with family and friends. The brand new Trooper kitchen focusses on the finest seasonal ingredients to create dishes that pay tribute to traditional British cooking with a contemporary twist, celebrating slow and sustainable food cooked to order.

The Trooper Barn serves expertly sourced coffee, freshly prepared breakfast and brunch and hand-made cakes throughout the day from 9am until 4pm, Tuesday to Sunday.

Our freshly roasted seasonal coffee is supplied by North London coffee officionados Fireheart Coffee. If you love it as much as we do, you can buy beans to enjoy at home.

No booking necessary for the Trooper Barn and we have a separate menu for our little Troopers.

Dogs welcome in the garden all day, and in the pub until 5.30pm. Service dogs are always welcome.
