I am delighted to introduce myself as the Head Teacher at St Mary's. We are a friendly Church of England primary school right in the heart of our Northchurch village. We're proud to have a warm, close-knit community where every child is encouraged to thrive and supported to do their very best.

At St Mary's, Christian values guide everything we do, from how we care for each other to how we approach learning. We believe in fostering a growth mindset, helping children embrace challenges, learn from their mistakes, and celebrate their progress. Our exciting curriculum inspires curiosity and a love of learning, supporting both academic and personal achievements.

We're passionate about giving all our pupils the chance to discover their talents. Whether it's through creative arts, sports, outdoor learning, or academic challenges, we encourage our children to explore, create, and grow.

Our Relationship and Positive Behaviour Policy helps us maintain a positive, inclusive environment where kindness, respect, and understanding are at the core of everything we do. We're also proud of the strong partnerships we have with parents, carers, and our local church, working together to support each child's development.

Our most recent OFSTED inspection (March 2023) described St Mary's as a 'welcoming and caring place to learn'. In our 2019 SIAMS inspection, it was said that 'children and adults flourish in an atmosphere of genuine compassion and respect for each other'.
