Berkhamsted Raiders is one of the top 5 largest youth football clubs in the country and officially the largest for girls football. We are a 3 star FA Accredited Football Club and offer a wide range of football for boys and girls as well as futsal, walking, seniors, ladies and inclusive football.
Our inclusive football training takes place on Saturday mornings from 930am-1030am at BerkoAstro, our 3G all-weather facility. We cater for children of all abilities and the focus is on providing a fun, safe and enjoyable place for kids to get involved in football under the care of our dedicated coaches. Not only do we offer training but we also play in inclusive football festivals in collaboration with Herts FA and other local clubs.
Boys Football
Berkhamsted Raiders operates boys' teams from U7-U18 and we are proud to be one of the largest youth football clubs in the country. In 2022 we were delighted to be named Grassroots Club of the Year by Hertfordshire FA. This was a huge honour and credit to all the work of our volunteers, parents, players, and sponsors.
Our boys' football teams are generally streamed on ability across age groups ensuring that players can play at the right level for their ability and development. We will aim to evaluate players throughout the season, taking feedback from managers and coaches, using the FA Four Corners evaluation model of Social, Technical, Psychological, Physical.
We run Taster Sessions in May for the next season, which runs from September to May. Due to the limitations of pitch availability, we typically have waiting lists for most younger age groups and need to prioritise applications based on living in HP4 postcode and then going to a school in HP4.
Girls Football
Berkhamsted Raiders is one of the largest girls youth football clubs in the country. We are proud to have over 350 girls playing for the club, and we are aiming to have 500 female players by 2025.
