Bancroft Recreation Ground has been providing a place of relaxation and leisure for Hitchin's residents since before the Second World War. The park houses many specimen trees, shrubs and flower beds, and also supports a bowling club, tennis club and during the summer months, a popular Splash Pad.
The Splash area is free to use, no need to book.

Multi Use Games Area
The Multi Use Games Area offers a range of sporting activities free to the local community including basketball, kickabout football, netball, tennis and cricket practice. Tennis courts
The tennis courts are managed by the Hitchin Lawn Tennis Club. For further details please contact the club.
Pay and Play Tennis is available and is charged at £7 per hour. You can easily book and pay for your Tennis Court online.
